Sad Moment

I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday to buy the last 2 lanterns we were needing for the aisle decorations, and they don't have them anymore! I'm incredibly sad about this. I only needed 2 more! I'm going to continue searching at other Hobby Lobby's around here. I just pray I find them. Otherwise, I have no clue what I'll use....maybe flowers in small vases?? Who knows. I'm also looking for cheap tea lights in bulk. Hobby Lobby's sell 100 count for $4 which is not bad at all. Grandma says I can get them cheaper at Wal-Mart so I'll be sure to check those out.

I went thru our guest list to see who's addresses I still needed. I'm still missing about 10 or 15, which is much better than I thought. I'm proud of myself there!

Next weekend we're going to Brownsville for Fifi's baby shower. Brad's going with so I'm SO excited. He's finally going to spend a good amount of time with my mom's side of the family. His nerves will really get tested. My man will have to learn patience when it comes to my family. We're great testers that way.

Today is Grandma and Grandpa's 41st wedding anniversary. So many years together! I cannot wait to spend 41 years with Brad, then hopefully another 20 or 30 more.

No more wedding plans for this weekend. I'm already short on money and it's only the 17th (got paid Friday the 15th). I'm praying for a raise next month, but we'll see how that goes! I'm gonna watch Becoming Jane now. I love these old love stories. It's how love should be now-a-days.

Mid-Day Slump

I haven't gotten to do much wedding planning this week. I have my long list of wedding night hotels to go thru. All of them sound amazing...don't know how I will choose! We have one month left till we can book our honeymoon flight and hotel! Dad's taking care of those arrangement since it's his points that are paying for the trip. How sweet of him to do this for us. Neither of us have been to Florida before.

My friend Tolly sent me this picture today. It's from Brad's assembly a few weeks ago. The light reflecting off my ring make it look huge! =)

I think I've stressed myself out. It's one of those days where I don't want to talk to anyone or interact. (Not a good thing when I have to be at work). I keep reading the Knot posts for DFW area. Sometimes reading those cheers me up. It only got me thinking about random things. I'm really confused about some of our chair covers. Lynette is trying to get me to do something else that I'm not totally sure about. Mom said to be sure to stand my ground so that no one tries to take over what I want. As long as Brad and I are happy with things, she will be too.

Oh! So Brad's going to be done with school in the beginning of August and I know exactly what to get him for graduation. He wants a Samsung 40" TV that he found at Best Buy. It's quite expensive so I'm trying to get all our friends and family to pitch in what they can for his gift and I'll pay the remainder balance. That's the TV to your left. I want to find him a few other gifts to give him too. I'm still thinking of those things. They're going to be special things from me.

Whew, what a weekend!

Brad and I had an enjoyable weekend together. He had such a great time at Jeff Dunham's show Friday night. I had a hard time staying awake, though I also had a good time. My few hours of sleep caught up with me and I slept like a baby that night.

Courtney's dress finally came in Friday and we picked it up Sunday. Doesn't Brad look beautiful in red? He was just dying to model it. That's my future husband!

I found a site to order our votives from. The prices are great. www.cudge.net Anyone look for votives in a variety of shapes and sizes should check this site out.

I'm off to bed. Yes, I'm 21 years old and going to bed at 8 p.m. I have some sleep to catch up on and a back to rest.

Taking a break

I am dead today. I did not get enough sleep last night. I blame it on Twilight. Yes, I am one of the geeks that reads those books. I was up till 11 reading the books then got up at 5:30 to go to work. Not enough beauty sleep pour moi.

Anyways, my mind is still on the wedding track. I need to figure out how to add a cute header to my blog. Plain white just ain't working for me. A wonderful fellow knottie gave me some directions, but I am kind of computer retardant. We'll see what I can accomplish.

I also need to create a layout of Winfrey Point but I have no clue how to make one. Lynette had the idea to creat a detailed layout for plan A and plan B. Plan A is my ideal wedding. Plan B will be the wedding we'll have in the case of bad weather. That's going to be a lot of work!! Time to start working on it.

Brad's coming here today! Yay! I miss him (like always).

One Crazy Day!

I feel so accomplished! I really got a lot done today and I'm so happy about it! All us ladies (me, Mom, Alison, Grandma, Tammy, Lynette, and Tayler) went to Winfrey Point to check the place out, take some pictures, and get some answers. And I did all that. We decided where we'll be doing the ceremony. We found a beautiful tree we can use as the focal point. Lynette says she has some beautiful candleabra type things that we can hang from the trees as well as this:

We'll be stringing fishing wire thru cabbage roses or peonies and hanging them from the treese. I saw this on theknot.com and fell in love with it immediately. It's going to look beautiful!

Lynette was the savior of the day. With her working at a wedding place, she knows all the ins and outs of planning a wedding. She has some beautiful ideas; ideas that I never would have thought of. Oh and the center pieces are going to be gorgeous! Even better, the flowers will be silk. They look just the same and will be much cheaper than using real flowers. Come to find out, my beautiful peonies aren't in season in November =( But, a great alternative is cabbage roses. They're just as lush and full and beautiful!

The rentals are costing us a good penny. Winfrey Point only provides 18 rectangle (ugly) tables, so we're renting round tables. We're also renting white chairs because the chairs at Winfrey are that a brown metal with writing on them. ABSOLUTELY HIDEOUS! We'll be using those, but just not in the main hall. We're going with aqua table cloths and red bows on the chairs. I want to use aqua some more and I think this will be the best way.

Oh, bad news! My candles didn't pass the fire permit test. Now I need to either find battery operated candles in bulk or buy tea lights. Either way I'm going to need to buy empty votives now. Time to start shopping again. Thankfully, Lynette has offered to buy the candles from me! What ever money I get back for all the candles can be used to buy the new stuff. Yay!

A lovely Knottie friend has given me some pointers on how to spice up this blog. Time to work on it! Night!

I got some white x-mas lights today. Just 3 strands but I'm happy! I'm going to need hundreds more, but I've got connections to get them. They're going to look so awesome all over the place.

I haven't had a blog since I was in high school. I think this will help my wedding planning though. Gotta lay my thoughts down somewhere.

I changed my mind about my cake again today. This is my new favorite one. But it'll be a square cake with peonies and roses scatered around it. So beautiful!

Tomorrow is going to be a hectic day!!

-meeting at Winfrey Point to take pictures

-meeting with the rental company

-getting a fire permit for our candles

I don't think I'll have 2 seconds to rest! I'm excited too because my mom and my future mother-in-law are finally going to have some time together. I've been dating Brad for almost 2 years now and they've only met once....oh goodness look at me going off on another subject!

I can't concentrate on my work today. I just want to do all things wedding...still have 5 hours to resist though. Not so easy!
